Olga Zaikina-Kondur and Aaron Ziolkowski (Ph.D. Candidates, Art History)

April 10 to April 19

Recovering the Black Box is an exhibition dedicated to the Russian conceptual artist Andrei Monastyrsky. Art History Ph.D. candidates Olga Zaikina-Kondur and Aaron Ziolkowski will recreate eight of his sculptures produced between 1975 – 1983. Crafted from humble materials like shoeboxes and cardboard tubes, and painted matte black, these sculptures were completed and activated by individual audience participation.
