Between Order and Disorder: (Re)Collecting Rejectamenta and Other Curiosities

Sue Uhlig

May 21 to August 30

During her summer residency, Sue Uhlig (Ph.D. Candidate in Art Education) investigates ways in which collections become pedagogical entanglements of wonder and empathy. Focusing on the documentation of daily life through re-collected materials, Uhlig challenges the typically private, independent practice of collecting to reconsider it as a relational, interactive process in the public sphere. Informed by historical wunderkammer and contemporary cabinets of curiosity, Uhlig transforms the Borland Project Space into a research lab, workstation, studio, and museum.
