In this weeklong project, Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Visual Arts Amir Aghareb (MFA ‘19) demystifies the process of obtaining certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to fly a commercial drone. This certification is required of any who may receive profit from flying a drone (for example, real estate drone photography, drone remote sensing, or video recording used for commercial purposes).
To become certified, applicants must pass the Unmanned Aircraft General Exam (UAG). On September 24, 3:30 – 6:30 PM, Aghareb will lead a workshop to help prepare interested applicants for the exam. Covering topics such as airport regulations, flight operations, and weather briefings, the workshop will provide essential knowledge for anyone who wishes to prepare for the certification test. This workshop is free and open to the public.
